How to reinstate your license in Kentucky

  1. Once the court order has been issued, complete the Ignition Interlock Application for Restricted License online or visit your local Driver Licensing Regional Field Office.
  2. Submit your Ignition Interlock Application, $105 application fee, proof of Insurance, valid registration and court order to your local Driver Licensing Regional Field Office or the One Stop Shop.
  3. You will be provided a receipt and eligibility letter to bring to your ignition interlock installation appointment.
  4. Call 1-833-545-0368 to schedule an ignition interlock installation appointment.
  5. Get the ignition interlock device installed, please make sure to bring all required documents to your appointment.
  6. We will provide you with a Certificate of Installation, take this document to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office in your county.
  7. Pay $40 reinstatement fee and all other required fees (i.e. duplicate license fee, renewal license fee).

  9. Don’t forget… we must calibrate and inspect the ignition interlock device regularly to stay compliant with local regulations and ensure your device continues to work properly.

Two weeks before the end of your restriction period, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will notify you that your IID can be removed. Contact us to schedule your final service appointment, please bring your Removal Letter from the KYTC.
